An Artist with a Wealth of Experience
TERENCE HAYES

After gaining a Certificate in Art from London University, artist Terence Hayes -born in East London in 1947 - joined Progressive Publicity as an apprentice artist and learned traditional signwriting and did cinema advertising for The Rank Organisation.
After enjoying a long and happy relationship with Progressive Publicity, passing his apprenticeship in silk screen printing, industrial photography, layout/design, scenic painting and working on the advertising and displays of many epic films such as Cleopatra, Spartacus, Fall of the Roman Empire, The Sound of Music, South Pacific, West Side Story and so on - Terence became a freelance artist.
Terence’s career has led to many exhibitions including exhibiting at the Barbican in London, Edinburgh, Paris and Rome. Some of his more recent works have found homes in Switzerland, America, New Zealand and Japan.
For many years Terence exhibited in the Bayswater Road in London where his work was popular with tourists from all over the world.Also a member of the Guild of Essex Craftsmen and exhibits his work at exhibitions with them in Essex - at this present time he has just finished three commissions of his modern design abstract paintings on canvas. Terence also specialises in pen and ink - sketches of properties, classic cars and churches but can turn his hand to any subject and is a regular exhibitor at the Cliffs Pavillion in Southend on Sea, Essex.
